COM-UK was formed in 2011 to represent the bird fancy of the United Kingdom on the world arena within the Confederation Ornithologique Mondiale, C.O.M. (www.comomj.org) formed in 1952. The Federation is made up of the National Council for Aviculture, NCA (www.nca.uk.net) formed in 1945 and the International Ornithological Association, IOA (www.ioa-com-uk.org) formed in 1955.
